This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Possible Area of Interest in C Atlantic? (Is invest 92L)

#1 Postby Steve H. » Thu Sep 11, 2008 1:46 pm

Looks like aside from 91L, perhaps we may have some tumbleweed at 9N/43W. I think a bear watch may be needed over the next few days.

I'm new here, and just focusing on learning models/prediction.

I am hoping to use a new "INVEST" to track, and I think I see this at roughly 15N/40-43W at this time, correct?

Thx - Ty

ATL NHC INVEST Central Atlantic NONAME: Discussion

#9 Postby gatorcane » Fri Sep 12, 2008 12:32 pm

New invest in the Atlantic between Lesser Antilles and Africa. NHC has labeled it INVEST but NRL has not given it a number yet...that should be coming soon so lets open up this thread to discuss this new area:

NHC Floater 2 INVEST:

Its not an invest. SSD labels many systems just to put a floater on it. And the NHC numbers invests, not the NRL.

I expect the NHC to give it an invest number sometime today though.

Until declared 92L, this should be moved to Talkin' Tropics (or merged with a thread there).
