Five Atlantic tropical cyclones in one image?

I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer....

This is the famous image of four storms active at once in the Atlantic basin during 2008...Gustav at landfall, Hanna making her loop above Haiti, Ike strengthening in the Central Atlantic, and Josephine forming near the Cape Verde Islands. What is that swirl off the coast of New England? Is that Fay's remnant circulation, or had that already been caught by a front and carried away?

It's a non-tropical cyclone. The image is from September 2nd, 2008. It has storms G-H-I-J. Fay formed in the middle of August and dissipated on the 26th. Kyle formed on the 25th of September.

I saved satellite imagery for August/September of 2008. Running it forward from Fay's final advisory, I can track the remnant mid-level circulation/energy to the northeast U.S. early on Friday, August 28th. By late that day, I can't find it on satellite imagery. However, extrapolating its movement, it does appear to be absorbed by a frontal boundary and a cold core low develops where Fay's remnant energy should be. So while it isn't Fay, that low contains energy/moisture from Fay.
