Average SOI for last 30 days : -19.97
Average SOI for last 90 days : -11.14
Daily contributor to SOI calculation: -80.41 :double:

Monthly Average SOI Values

Nov: -6.42
Dec: -9.00
Jan: -8.26


That should be one enormous Kelvin Wave coming across soon....might just knock South America off its legs!

Never seen the SOI that negative. What is the lowest ever recorded?

Don't want to forget that there was an intense Tropical Cyclone near Tahiti conributing to the low SOI on the 5th (this is why daily numbers aren't that useful).

Mark,its possible that the SOI will crash again in the comming days as another cyclone moves close to Tahiti this week.
