I agree. The "old" rule of South of Puerto Rico means GOM doesn't apply here. Everyone on the East coast
needs to stay aware.

I wish it was that easy! I will count out the GOM when this system is N of the FL border with GA!!! And that isn't always entirely safe!

As of this moment we really don't know where TD #9 will end up. It is a waiting game for most of us right now.

Where could we find a map of all August tropical systems that passed within 500 miles of TD #9? Or would that be too difficult to look to see because they'd be too numerous?

This system is not a EC storm. The thing is too weak and it will not catch the trof. It will be a GOM storm (and possible a SOFLO one) if Hispaniola doesn't kill it first.
