...DEPRESSION HEADING FOR HISPANIOLA...

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH COAST OF THE
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC FROM BARAHONA WESTWARD...AND FOR THE
SOUTHWESTERN PENINSULA OF HAITI INCLUDING PORT-AU-PRINCE.

ALL INTERESTS IN EASTERN CUBA SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS
SYSTEM.

AT 2 AM AST...0600Z...THE POORLY-DEFINED CENTER OF TROPICAL
DEPRESSION NINE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 15.7 NORTH...LONGITUDE 67.5 WEST OR ABOUT 215 MILES...345 KM...SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO.

THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 13 MPH ...20 KM/HR...AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ON FRIDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH... 55 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST...AND THE DEPRESSION COULD BECOME A TROPICAL STORM LATER TODAY.

ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1008 MB...29.77 INCHES.

REPEATING THE 2 AM AST POSITION...15.7 N... 67.5 W. MOVEMENT
TOWARD...WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 13 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS... 35 MPH. MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1008 MB.

This one might be a close one for us. Unfortunately
at work they won't watch it until it's on us. I wonder how many there are out there like that?

unfortunately there are people like that every where. People just don't like the inconvenience of a storm disrupting there everyday routine, so they tend to ignore them until it is hits them right in the smacker.
