0Z Models Lose Tropical Systems

#1 Postby Steve H. » Fri Aug 22, 2003 6:34 am

One hour its on the upswing, the next hour down. Seems as if the tropical models have lost enthusiasm for the Atlantic overnite, and don't develop systems much at all. Going to ignore this run (GFDL dissipates 92L) and watch the actual weather. Seems that shear is a factor to some extent this morning. Will this abate? It should, but the center of 92L is somewhat exposed. Let's see if convection fills back in. cheers!!

Steve, it has been "Tropical Depression Nine," not "92L" since 14 1/2 hours before you posts, nearly 21 hours from the time of this post.
