Yeah though I tend to take those forecasts with a pinch of salt, they tend to flip alot, esp the longer range...should be treated the same way as the long range GFS run really, good for possible trends but not to be taken too seriously...

The importance of the MJO has been mentioned so much related to activity this year and I am curious when we know it's in the ATL Basin. Forecasting it I can understand may not be reliable. What data tells you the MJO has arrived? Do you put any faith in the analysis of the existing conditions?
