They're Aching To Crank It Up All Over

#1 Postby Sean in New Orleans » Fri Jul 23, 2010 11:33 pm

It's going to be busy this year. I've seen convection all over lately...some of it not even mentioned. We have classic wind shear right now, but, that is normal. I have concern for "that period," between around August 20 and the first of fall when that shear is not present. It's going to blow this year and somebody(s) going to get it in 2010. We can only wait and see. But, it's so ripe this year...it's juicy out there. It's going to happen. We'll see. It's never to early to say that prayer.

The thing that really concerns me is the SST anomalies in the Atlantic. I mentioned this in another thread. When the shear and SAL go away, I fear that tropical activity can explode and pump out storm after storm. The current SST anomalies are different from other "active" seasons in the past. This year they have been hovering near record levels for quite some time.

We're going to have "storm after storm," WeatherEmperor. And, we're going to have storms in the GOM and the Atlantic seaboard. Right now, it's been popping in the Caribbean, the Southern GOM, the Bahamas (recently), and soon, we'll be looking towards Africa. We'll have lots to watch soon. It's going to pop all over.
