Fun, but Hermine isn't the same name as Hermione and they have very different pronunciations. :) The name on the list is "her-MEEN" while the Harry Potter character is "her-MY-uh-nee".

You can have Bonnie. I'll take Nicole, Paula and Virginie. :cheesy:

p.s.
Love that look on Igor's face. That's the look of a hurricane nut who's been up all night watching the rapid intensification of a storm into a Cat 5.

Look out for a lot of Frankenstein jokes in this forum if/when Igor gets spun up.

Quite frankly, that's too good of a name to NOT be a Cat4 or Cat5 long-tracker.

Not if you're Viktor Krumm.. "Hermy-Own-Ninny"
Would be just a bit easier to say, and almost as accurate, anyway.

Igor sounds like one of those Humberto systems that sneaks up on you. I think the big storm of the season will be Danielle. There's something about that name that brings about a silent fear to it. The next big ones will either be Julia, Fiona, or Nicole. I'm thinking all three of those will become major hurricanes. Julia will be an 2005 Emily type of storm, but weaker. Fiona is 2005's Rita. I think Fiona will be a big Texas storm and Nicole will be either a Florida or Carolina storm in early to mid October.

Danielle will definitely be an east coast storm. It will be similar to Floyd, very large and powerful, with a similar track. I'm thinking Danielle forms on August 10-11th from an African wave, becomes a hurricane on the 14th, a major on the 15th, and rapidly intensifies to the first and only category 5 of the season on the 16th. It will make landfall as either a Category 3 or low-end Category 4 in a Floyd/Hazel kind of way.
