How long?

Odd question I was thinking to myself since no hurricanes hit the US last year and so far none this year..what is the record for longest period of time for the US not to get a hurricane landfall?

We had a 3-yr gap from Irene in 1999 to Lili in 2002. That's a fairly long period. You can answer your own question here:

Most recently we didn't have anything from Hurricane Wilma through to Hurricane Humberto which was about 22-23 months, which is obviously just under 2 years, thats probably the most recent long run, though as Wxman57 has shown there has been longer periods then that as well.

Not for a lack of trying, as Gordon weakened to TS strength just before making landfall in the FL Big Bend in 2000 and Gabrielle in 2001 was somehow only a TS with 70 mph despite a central pressure of 980 mb when it made landfall at Venice, FL.
