interesting presentation. The GFS and NOGAPS split the wave @ ~21|61... a piece goes NW over the Straits and the main piece forms a new center to the NE then heads toward FL. Not surprising NOGAPS does what GFS does but *IF* mid and upper depiction is accurate, this is a viable option.
We'll see by Thursday night.

Scott. I am not sure what to make of that System near the DR now. Will it develope and move towards Florida or will it just remain a wave and head toward the Gulf/ Florida?. I have jumped on a few systems lately that just fell apart so I am taking a wait and see approach now with this system:):)

I am very concerned about the possibility of flooding along the east coast during the next few weeks. The ground is already saturated from all of the moisture the past 10 months. Any tropical system affecting the area could lead to major flooding problems.

So am i John..... alot of models are hinting at developing the puerto rico system and moving it up the coast, almost every model is showing a trough moving into the eastern U.S early september with a stalled front, with a possibility of at LEAST one tropical system getting into this mess we really have to watch to see how everything pans out.

I've been out all aft and right now it doesn't appear to be much circ there. Looks like the GFS did an about face this afternoon...charging a progressive trof but not till Sun (?). Make things interesting

Will be back after 10P tonight and do another map to ponder!

So the GFS did an about face, fact is ITS THE GFS...... what do you expect? Bottom line is that whether this system develops or doesn't develop, the moisture will get pulled along the frontal axis and affect at least the SErn coastline, and depending on how progressive the trough is, te midatlantic and northeast as well........
Not to mention the models are bringing the CV system further south(most likely because they are showing it as a weaker system which will slip under the high pressures)
