Poll: How many named storms will form in September?

#1 Postby CrazyC83 » Wed Aug 31, 2011 9:29 am

(Mods, please add a poll option, with numbers from 0 to 8 then 9 or more).

I say 5, including 3 hurricanes and 2 majors, not counting Katia.

I'm going for six, simply because we could see the first one already in the first couple of days.

I went 6... hoping for large, non-land impacting hurricanes...

I went for Seven, however I think majority of it would be short lived, weak tropical storms just like what we saw in August.

There something about this season that is just hostile for cape verde development. Even Katia is not certain of reaching major status. 8-)

I went with 6 even though I honestly think we could see 8 especially with the numerous weak storms that have popped up this season.

I went with five.

I'm kinda sick of all these weak storms though. Irene so far is truely the only star of this year.

I went with seven here. Similar to last year, September will be one of the two busiest months of the season and more than August seems reasonable.

Still a few days lift in September but prob not enough time to squeeze anything else out of it.

So.... I was off as I went with 4...

1) Lee Formed on the 2nd
2) Maria on the 6th
3) Nate on the 7th
4) Ophelia on the 21st
5) Phillipe on the 24th
