Nate's little brother?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Nate's little brother?

#1 Postby HurricaneBelle » Fri Sep 09, 2011 1:49 pm

Something is brewing in the east central Gulf and moving toward the West coast of Florida. From the latest Tampa AFD:

SATELLITE AND RADAR IMAGERY INDICATES A SUBSTANTIAL
AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAS DEVELOPED OVER THE GULF AND
IT APPEARS A WEAK SURFACE LOW MAY HAVE DEVELOPED AND IS RIDING
TOWARDS THE AREA CURRENTLY.

It's probably no more than a weak low along a surface boundary, but the radar presentation has really blown up throughout the day.

It's going to give Central Florida some needed rain (VIS only):

It's moving NE about 15 MPH.

As far as rain in central FL goes, I can't speak for the interior sections of the state but right here along the coast we've been deluged over the last couple of weeks, about 5' or so just in the last several days. I'm not complaining as I have three boys playing Little League right now on different teams and just about all their practices have been rained out (and the one scheduled for tonight looks like a goner too).

Haven't had as much down here - but we have had some rain almost every day for the last week. My grass is growing WAY too fast. Looking at the the Gulf RGB satelitte - I think I see a little turning around 29 84 - but it doesn't look like much and it may just be the big bend effect :) Looks like we are going to get some good rain though
