Here's a track of the infamous hurricane of September 1928, that hit florida after hitting PR. We here called him Hurricane San Felipe. It formed around 13.7n 20.4w and moved wnw, but that's not my point right now. What I found interesting is that when this storm was over 35W it was on the 14.7 latitude just the same of Fabian right now, and it continued around the 15n latitude until it reached the 59.9w longitude when it reached the 16n. After that it hit Puerto Rico with 160mph official sustained winds measured in the NWS San Juan PR. It's interesting that this system was on the 15n over 39w, so far north and away in the Atlantic (35 to39W) and still hit PR instead of being a fish storm. Fabian is currently over those latitudes and longitudes, and this (Fabian) may not be the case but take note! Past systems have been so far north and have presented problems to the islands. (Luis 95, Allen 80, Donna 60, and now San Felipe 1928).
