S2K members given control of the NHC, including new Director

#1 Postby CrazyC83 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 9:06 am

Yep, breaking news. The NHC director and control have all been given to Storm2k members. Our own cycloneye was named the Director, replacing Bill Read.

Also other weather bloggers have been given control of regional directions. The reason: it is time to get into the 21st century of weather messaging.

I just got the email. Some of the members, including myself, who are also on Wikipedia have been announced as taking control of the reanalysis project. Apparently this is the result of the country's deficit reduction plan released last year.

I prefer staying as a moderator here as there is too much responsability on that job. :) Good one Crazy :)

Thought I would mix it up. Often a joke is on a fake sudden storm. This time I chose to get into internal affairs.

Some unique ideas could have been: NOAA and DARPA announce reason for extreme warmth during March 2012, New GOES satellite goes online early, Hurricane Katrina downgraded to TS at final landfall ( ), and ECWMF being discontinued.

I wouldn't mind being in a position within CARCAH at the NHC so that Epac monsters could get recon during their peak instead of when it's on the verge of weakening to a TS.
