Gulf Sea Surface Temps
I know sea surface temps are only one factor in predicting a hurricane season but I really think we will see some revised numbers soon......they are to low...the gulf is boiling already like never before......this might be one of those came out of nowhere years

i think the gulf is just ahead of schedule due to the anomalously warm winter. it just means we're not going to warm as fast from this point forward. the gulf is always warm enough to support a whopper when it counts... but in many years the biggie fails to show. an above normal gulf is meaningless imo. the overwhelming consensus is for a below normal season overall and i suspect that's what is ultimately in store.

In a possible Neutral or El Nino ASO months it does matter, IMO.
There are signs this year that the GOM could be a hot spot for homebrewing storms, unlike the last couple of years, like lower than average shear and higher than average instability along with lower MSLPs so far this spring.
