8:00AM TROPICAL UPDATE-AUGUST 30, 2003

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Sat Aug 30, 2003 8:26 am

The 8:00am CDT Storm2k tropical update can be found at http://storm2k.org/Weather-Central/Trop ... ropics.htm

Check out the latest on the organizing tropical wave in the central Gulf of Mexico. Conditions for development as the system moves NW into the open Gulf of Mexico are marginal, however a Tropical Depression appears to be forming. Some models make this TS Grace before landfall on the upper TX coast. It will be a significant rainmaker for the Upper Gulf Coast later in the holiday weekend. Will your plans be affected?

Meanwhile in the Atlantic Hurricane Fabian continues strengthening and moving Westward. Will he become a threat to the US? Check it all out at the above link.

Looks like the storm is beginning to get it's rotation together and we should see significant formation throughtout today. It should go into the mid to upper Texas coast. For those in South Central Gulf region--it appears the worst should go to our west. Good news for Labor Day plans. Sorry Texas!!
