Interesting feature in Western Caribbean

Its not tropical but at this time of year,anything down there is worth keeping an eye on.

Yes - and just last week I told someone that the season's over...

the surface analysis shows a tropical wave and/or monsoon trough in that area, and it's funny but at lunchtime looking out to the east (towards the ocean), I was thinking, "If this were summetime I'd guess that those multilayered clouds were a tropical wave or disturbance to our east"....

Actually the disturbance is to our south, but interesting...

It rapidly dissipated overnight - but it did look interesting yesterday morning...

Proof again that the season never really ends in the Western Caribbean - a TS formed down there in February, 1952 and made landfall near Cape Sable (Flamingo) a few days later...

and in 1981 Tropical Storm Arlene formed on May 5 in the same area, so again the season down there never really ends...
