Maybe it's just me... I was watching the TV earlier this afternoon (in Houston, Tx, btw), and NONE Of the stations were saying anything about Grace.
KTRK/ABC had footbal. KHOU/CBS had tennis, KPRC/NBC had autoracing, but at least THEY were running a "tropical storm warning" logo at the top of the screen. I checked all the UHF stations too.. nothing there either.
Is this because the storm formed so quickly? is it because it's a holiday weekend? Is it because sports (and it's advertisers) are so much more important than weather?

Weekend storms/no media blitz?

I think you'll begin to see more coverage of this storm as she get's closer and the rains begin in earnest here in Houston. I believe you are right though... Not enough updates this afternoon and I am also sure there are alot of people that are unaware of this storm due to the Holiday weekend.

This could prove to be a dangerous situation for the uninformed. I've been hearing for the past couple of days meteorologists telling residents to keep a close eye on the weather this weekend. Sure enough it has changed and I do think all media outlets should be doing there best to inform. Hopefully they get on the ball soon.
