When will first 2013 North Atlantic named storm form?

I think it's time to start this poll as you never know if another very early Ana type storm forms well before the season starts.oficially on June 1rst. If you look at the title of thread,the words named storm are there and that means the members have to vote on when the first named tropical storm forms. (Tropical Depressions dont count) The poll will close on May 31rst at 7:00 PM EDT.



I will go with June 11-20.

Once you cast a vote you cannot change your vote. I picked August 1-10. I'm hoping for a very quiet April-July. Note that I don't see anything in particular to support this, I'm just hoping...

Well, for this poll I voted June 11-20 as my best educated guess. I would too be very surprised if we see early activity like we had last season. That was a true rarity with Alberto and Beryl before June 1, with Beryl nearly becoming a hurricane before landfall here.

I'm hedging that by the middle part of June is when we may see something brew in the GOM or SW Atlantic.

I'm going with July 1-10(which is late for me) because of how dry we are starting out the year, and for that matter the last 6 months here in SE TX. Not seeing any signs yet of a really good atmosphere or pattern for earlier cyclogenesis.
