This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I need help on a weather research project I am doing for cla

#1 Postby Hurricane Andrew » Sun Apr 28, 2013 11:24 am

I am outdoing myself this time. I am doing the effects on track/strengt of hurricanes that the following have
AO
NAO
PNA
Atlantic Tripole
Bermuda High

Could you guys get me some good links, or, and I have permission for this, your own knowledge?

I know you guys are very knowledgeable here, so I asked.

Thanks!

I know this isn't much but the Bermuda High is more commonly referred to as the Azores High. Depending on the size, intensity and location of the high, it can either steer hurricanes away from the United State or towards it.

Thanks. I have often heard of that, that if the high is large, storms will go into the east coast [Irene], rather than OTS. [Igor]

Really not trying to be picky, but only the second really has anything related to hurricanes.

Sorry. I just really need help on this one.

This is a great site here that lets you compare various parameters from different analog years. So it would be good to get an idea of what kind of patterns prevail in relation to various climo phases.

Also, here is a site I put together that has a ton of links. Hopefully you will find some helpful:
