Wanted to let fellow S2k peeps know that our app, formerly known as HurricaneTrack, has been renamed to Hurricane Impact. This is to avoid confusion with similarly named apps in the App Store. It also better distinguishes what our app is all about: the impact from tropical storms and hurricanes.
It's available for iOS devices now for only $2.99 - one time cost. It will soon be on Google Play, hopefully by July and thus available for most modern Android devices.
The main feautre of the app is its ability to keep users up to date with video blogs, live weather data and live web cam images. In fact, we are introducing our new Surge Cam to the app this season. It will be set up in an area where we expect surge inundation to sweep in, providing users with a real-time look at what the surge level is like. We will even have markers set up in the shot to show how high the water is rising! Can you imagine if we had this for Katrina or Ike? Well, when we get one like that again, we'll be ready and anyone with the app can watch it as it happens.
Hurricane Impact also has our Twitter and Facebook feeds, a daily video blog during the season, our own tracking maps (including exclusive TCHP track maps) and push notifications for important news and updates.
For landfall info, there is no other app that can bring you real-time data and images like Hurricane Impact.
If it seems like a good fit for your weather apps collection, get it here:

And by the way, we will be featuring incredible new graphics in both platforms later this season from Mike Watkins and his site, hurricaneanalytics.com - can't wait to debut those!

This app was wonderful during Sandy! An excellent addition to both hurricanetrack.com and the premium side of that site. Watching the images update with the surge rolling in toward the wind tower was pretty incredible. Between here, the app and HT, who needs anything else? (Note: Obviously yes, you still need the NHC/NWS. No body can literally do everything themselves!)
Hopefully this season will be quiet landfall wise, but if not, at least we know there will be some incredible data coming in.

I thought that Storm 2K had it's own iPhone app but I am unable to find it in the Apple apps store, on my phone or on my iPad. Am I dreaming?
Thanks and best of luck to everyone this hurricane season. So glad to have this family to share experiences and to be so well informed.

You can access the forum on the app Tapatalk. I have heard it works with Storm2k wonderfully on Android. However, I have an issue with Tapatalk and Storm2k on iOS apps. Last time, I attempted to use Tapatalk iOS app with Storm2k, I was unable to read posts. I don't know if this has been fixed.
Hurricane Pro, by Kitty Code is also great and hurricanetrack.com provides info for that app also.

I have an iphone and I haven't had any trouble accessing Storm2k on Tapatalk. It's the only way I can get to Storm2k at work, and I do it pretty much every day during hurricane season (and in the winter when we have even a remote chance of snow
).
