Seems like Fabian is having a very tough time with shear:

I'm not so sure I agree...the latest central pressure reading of 939 mb is the lowest measured by recon thus far. Flight level winds of 127 kt mean 130-135 mph at the surface...a very dangerous hurricane.

Have to agree, actually. It was hard to justify that drop in pressure with the visual image. As often happens, visuals are deceiving.

127 kts * 1.15 (kt = 1 MPH) = 146.05 MPH ;)

Dixie still Fabian has some energy left and unfortunly Bermuda is in the track of it by the weekend but hopefully it weakens because it would be a catastrofy there.

That shear is being fought off and now Fabian as entered its turn along with a TUTT-type low, and an eyewall replacement cycle ... once again, Fabian has intensified. Even worse, the TUTT low is enhancing and producing vigorous poleward outflow at this time. See the fighting off the shear thread above for several reasons of the sudden RECON findings earlier.

No Joshua..... 127 KTS is FLIGHT level, meaning the winds at a lower alt. will be lower like 130-135 as was said. Not 146
