What was the best-looking system of the Atlantic in 2021?
IMO, Larry looked better than Sam, but that's just my opinion.
Which Atlantic hurricane/tropical storm looked the best in 2021, and why?

It's the other way around for me. Sam blows Larry out of the water. Larry was nice though, but Sam was better.

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

What do you rate them both out of 10, lookswise?
Also, Sam wasn't as round as Larry, but was really enjoyable to track.

Agreed with this; gorgeous, didn't hurt a fly and long-lasting.
Compared to other hurricanes you've seen, what do you rate Sam out of 10? Just based on looks alone.

Re: What was the best-looking system of the Atlantic in 2021?
I think Ida was the best looking ATL hurricane this year. Sam was more enjoyable to track since he wasn't smashing into land, but I was surprised by how great Ida looked when she peaked. Surprised is probably a strange word choice when describing a 130kt hurricane as looking great as it's peaking, it's to be expected, but my surprise was how great she looked considering how much of a northerly component there was in her movement.
I personally find westward movers to be the most picturesque typically, like Dorian approaching the Bahamas or Irma approaching the N. Antilles, and generally think the greater the northerly component, the less attractive they become, but Ida was extremely good looking.

Agreed, Sam at #1 for me as well and I think Ida was also better looking than Larry at its peak.

Sam's overall appearance better compared to Larry (especially when it reached higher latitude) but Larry's size was impressive at lower and subtropical latitudes.

I have to go with tropical storm Odette. That was one attractive storm. Absolute perfection right there

Sorry but imo Sam takes the cake and it isn't particularly close either, although given my current pfp I may be biased in that regard

Plus MDR pinholes are pretty rare so it was a sight to see based off that alone.
