is there a possiblity of a set-up like 95?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Well.. for one thing the warm waters are closer to the coast then in 1995 so this may help some storms make it further west. I don't think its safe to say isabel is going to be a fish either:):) It depends alot on what Henri does:):) IMHO

I am wondering about one big one striking in October. We'll have to see, but I have had 1995-ish vibes off of this season, and so far one CV storm has developed and recurved away from the U.S., though too early to tell with Isabel.

If these vibes are proven right, watch out in a month Florida!!!

What Henri Does??

#5 Postby Deenac813 » Sat Sep 06, 2003 5:20 pm

Ok.. I am very much a newbie at this.. What do you mean by what Henri does? If he stays together & stays on the path that they have him on what would that mean for Isabel?? Thanks!

Deena : ) (who is new here!) :D

Hi Deena! Welcome to Storm2K!! :)

If Henri becomes a TS and is still offshore the southeast coast in a few days, it could provide a low pressure "alley" to turn Isabel north and away from the U.S. I personally believe Henri will be long gone (absorbed by the frontal trough) in 72-96 hours....so if Isabel recurves and misses the U.S, Henri won't be the reason.

Welcome to Storm2K, Deena.

I keep hearing indications that Henri may not move out to sea and could meander off the southeast United States coast. If indeed "he" doesn't move away, Isabel apparently could have more of a chance on staying westward which has been the issue today, unlike yesterday.

Yes Deena Like Perry said if Henri decides to hang around off the SE coast for awhile it may create a weakness in the ridge to allow Isabel to move more NW.. I agree with Perry though that Henri will not be the reason it will turn NW if thats what I sabel does do:):)

I guess it's possible but looking at WV loop the dry air from the trough in the western GOM looks like a tell tale sign everything is gonna get cleared out before Isabel. Everything ahead of it in the gulf is moving NE. Henri is on the Nw edge of the ULL in the Bahamas and the ULH over Cuba so it's getting a tug SE but I think it will move on with the trough. imho
