Options:
1) Yes
2) No
EDIT: For reference, here is the strongest storm from each of the last 10 (real) hurricane seasons and whether Lee is/was more intense:
2022: Ian — 160mph/937mb (YES)
2021: Sam — 155mph/927mb (YES)
2020: Iota — 155mph/917mb (wind YES, pressure NO)
2019: Dorian — 185mph/910mb (NO)
2018: Michael — 160mph/919mb (wind YES, pressure NO)
2017: Irma — 180mph/914mb OR Maria — 175mph/908mb (both NO)
2016: Matthew — 165mph/934mb (YES)
2015: Joaquin — 155mph/931mb (YES)
2014: Gonzalo — 145mph/940mb (YES)
2013: lol
2012: Sandy — 115mph/940mb (YES)
So that's 6 yes, 2 no, and 2 split. If we use maximum wind speed as a tiebreaker, however, then that means Lee would have been the strongest Atlantic hurricane in 8 of the past 10 years.
Poll: Will Lee (145kt/165mph/926mb) end up being the strongest hurricane of the 2023 season?

Yes, I don't see anything else beating or even thing those numbers this season

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

I'm actually going to say no for this. I know it may seem a bit ridiculous...but in recent years, with the exceptions of 2013 and 2019, the strongest storm of the season (whether it was via pressure or via wind-speed) seems to have occurred in late September or later.
2011: Ophelia
2012: Sandy
2014: Gonzalo
2015: Joaquin
2016: Matthew
2017: Maria (pressure-wise)
2018: Michael
2020: Iota
2021: Sam
2022: Ian (wind speed-wise)

Unless explicitly stated, all info in my posts is based on my own opinions and observations. Tropical storms and hurricanes can be extremely dangerous. Do not think you can beat Mother Nature. Refer to an accredited weather research agency or meteorologist if you need to make serious decisions regarding an approaching storm.

I went with no. I think he could be equalled or exceeded by an October storm in the Caribbean, just a hunch. Those waters will be largely untapped, and assuming El Nino doesn't finally gain traction, I think we could see 1-2 big storms down there.

Yes, unless something explodes over the boiling waters of the WCAR in October/November
