The northern islands will dodge another major bullet if

#1 Postby cycloneye » Mon Sep 08, 2003 6:06 am

I am only talking about the northern islands the leewards, the VI and Puerto Rico not about the Bahamas,Florida or the east coast because for those it will be another story. But for the islands as long the WNW motion continues and the forecasted west track doesn't come then the islands will not have to deal with another major hurricane this season (thank god). But we here have to still watch Isabel to see at what latitud it will make that west turn.If it does so above 19n then we can celebrate here in the islands as they are at 18n.So from this island and I know from the other islands let's continue to monitor it until it passes 20n and then we can breath easy.

Yes, passing over the 20N we'll only see a couple of showers, if any, from outer rainbands and that's all. Let's hope Isabel keep moving northwest for a long time. :)

I heard that a WSW track is (still) a possibilty with Hurricane Isabel, as an upper level low to the storms east will cause a bit of a southerly movement before a more westward, to then again WNW track is expected.
