Post your local Mets comments on Isabelle

As Isabelle heads toward the US Raintdaze thought it would be a good idea to have a place to gather the local Mets comments about the storm.

Local met here on the MS Gulf Coast is concerned but not overly, right now. Our main met. has gone on vacation this week. Go figure! lol.

Local mets here are starting to talk about Isabel with a more serious tone. It's days away and a lot can change by then but we all need to be totally prepared in case this very dangerous storm decides to aim for some of us.

Our report sounded very unconcerned (well duh, we couldn't get squished unless it made it to the GOM) giving lots of facts- but only a blurb really.

*It should be noted I don't watch TV- so all I read is the local news website LOL*

I noticed this am that Channel 9 in Orlando had the forecast map more to the NW at the end of the 5 day. TWC 3 minutes later had it west at the 5 day.

I believe he is wrk. He has not been on all week. Carrie Duncan has been in his spot. She is a weekend met.

On a local talk radio station, they were also unconcerned. Just said that we need to keep an eye on it. My personal feelings are that this area of texas is pretty much in the clear. There are usually no hurricanes after the first cool front. However, if I am wrong, I will eat my bbq'ed crow.

Ours are playing it safe right now. If I had a dollar for everytime they said "check back with us" I'd be rich

I've missed the local weather the last few days but I always check the website. At 6:54 this morning, it said "No worries from the tropics here!"

I wonder if that will change a wee bit soon since it appears slightly more possible that Isabel could make it into the GOM. But, I'm sure that's right...a front will likely keep Isabel away from us here.

Ours are all telling us to keep checking on the progress of Izzy, as she may be of concern here in about a week.

Our local met touched on it, but only for people that have family members around the FL and GOM.
