Sign of a Powerful Hurricane

#1 Postby stormernie » Wed Sep 10, 2003 7:57 pm

Isabel eye is bouncing around like a pingpong. This shows the tremendous amount of power this baby is packing. This monster rivals Andrew at this point and like I said last night it may make CAT 5 before everything is said and done. Still heading west at 270 at a slightly higher speed. I am getting increasingly concern for Florida.

Isabel could be tremendously more dangerous than Andrew IMO

Not sure how you can make this statement. Isabel is going to be right up there with Andrew for sure. This is one serious hurricane. The T numbers are ridiculous and they went as high as 7.1 just recently according to the NHC. If that is sustained for the next two hours or so, we might have a CAT 5 (165) hurricane.

This hurricane could potentially be worse than andrew and could make Andrew's damage seem like chicken feed.

Andrew is small
Isabel is medium in size

South Florida's population has increased since Andrew - over a decade ago

With winds increasing she could be comparable to Andrew when she strikes in wind and pressure.

Note i don't want to scare anyone i am just talking about potentially

I agree. Hopefully not, of course.

Isabel is getting larger by the day. If the ridge wasn't flattening her out to the top she could be just as tall as she is wide at this point.
