Very baffled at the moment.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

The discussion verifies that the trough is almost totally gone. The ridge is building over yet it keeps turning its track more north.

ONLY PROBLEM IS THE CANE IS STILL MOVING WEST AT 9 MPH!!

This is way too slow! Oh well, I hope NHC knows what they are doing.

That is what I thought also, but I figured heck I am no expert maybe this is the correct thing it is suppose to be doing. Beats me maybe somebody will explain.

Good question.. what is the answer? LOL! I thought if the ridge built back in & the trough was gone it would mean more of a westerly track & Florida would have to watch it more.. Did I understand that right??

I think the first trough has been forecast to miss Isabel. It's the second trough that may be able to sweep her out of the way. While Isabel is now moving more northerly than she's been, The difference between the 11PM and 5 AM coordinates was 1 degree North to 2.7 degrees West.

We all started out there!!! Remember some of us "old folks" here have been watching the tropics and weather in general for a good while longer than some of you have been on this earth.(yes I am one of those). I must also point out that this does not make any of us "Experts", just more experience to draw from. You "newbies" are improving and will continue to improve as evidenced by the questions being asked being more detailed and actually showing some "analysis" of what you are seeing sneaking in. Keep watching, asking and learning!!!! :D

It's not the first trough...it's the second one. That is the one that will get her and keep her from Florida.
