Is The President Prepared?

#1 Postby Thunder44 » Sun Sep 14, 2003 5:54 pm

It could move near Washington DC. Should their be concerns for his safety and other government officials as well? What's he doing? Just something to think about.

The President is the most well protected person in the United States. I'm sure he'll be well clear of the area if it threatens Washington, DC.

God please don't turn this into a political discussion board. I just left a great one for this very reason. It only serves to alienate people.

Thanks.

The President of the United States is certainly always well protected. If there is any danger to him or is staff, I would assume he would evacuate the White House.

He most certainly was on a "working vacation" in Crawford, Texas throughout the month of August. He made some campaign stops (at least) in the western U.S.

The more pertinent question is: How well is the U.S. government prepared for a strike on D.C. from a hurricane???

Politics is always a touchy subject to debate.. lol.. and the Tropics forum sure is not the place to do it.. If you would like to discuss off topic stuff please do so in the off topic section http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=6 8-)

Assuming Washington was hit and the people take the proper safety precautions, I can't help but worry about damage to our historical landmarks: the White House, Capitol Building, Washington monument, etc. I know these places are built well, but no place is indestructible.

I have some sincere doubts about the Mid Atlantic's state of prepardeness for a hurricane.Interestly I was discussing this with my brother (who just finished a tour of duty in Nepal..major earthquake risk.. and he told me that if you're prepared for a major diaster you're pretty much prepared for them all. Which could help anyone who prepared for a chemical attack.). This will be very new stuff for most people (the news isn't hepling much ; they're saying "well we could have some wind ' I'm hoping that this is just a drill Susan in Baltimore
