apology and moment of clarity

#1 Postby Rainband » Sun Sep 14, 2003 6:14 pm

First of all I apologise to anyone on S2K that I have offended. I am a very passionate person and I usually say what I feel. But in the same respect as a staff member? I should try to find a middle ground. Over the last few weeks S2K has grown and we have a very big family. Some of us are experts..not me  some novices..more my title and some are..yes people I disagree with that want some action... Sometimes it hard for us all to understand each others point of view and opinions. The important thing is that we all respect each other and get along. Lets take Isabel for instance..the experts are nervous...some people are fearfull and some people want some action. Respect is the key...I haven't shown alot of that to S2K members and staff lately... I want to start by saying..I have alot of respect for the "proffesional Mets and experts on this site.. IMHO you guys are an asset.. I understand you are working with the facts, at the time and get frustrated with those doubting them. Some people just believe it when it happens and or are scared of the possibilities. But in the same respect..those of you that believe it when it happens need to respect the experts. My point is..I broke this rule and there are no exceptions..S2K is based on an atmosphere of respect.. No flaming ..no trolls and no bashing the members. This is a stressful time in the hurricane season and tempers get flaired.. when that happens We all need to take a step back and regroup... We are a family at storm2k and famalies do argue and disagree..but there is no reason to be rude. If someone posts something you don't agree with then fine.. If you disagree do it kindly.... I have alot of room to talk  There are no exceptions to these rules!! I am proof.. Hopefully I get a chance to redeem myself and take my own advice!!! I joined this site because it is "the Best on the Net" Please lets keep it that way. Respect each others feelings.. Disagree but do it with kindness.

Don't worry about it Johnathan....I'm about as laid back as a man gets, and I turned off my computer and took a break yesterday to keep from cursing someone out. This is a stressful time for a lot of folks; look at me....I live in Atlanta, Georgia...260 miles from the ocean, and I've slept 5-6 hours at most for several nights now -- and if Isabel remains a major hurricane, I'll get even less once a hurricane watch and warning are issued.

Everything will be okay...we all know you are a kind gentleman whose friendship we value :)

Johnathan -

I must've missed what transpired and why it is you are no longer a moderator. :(

Your post I'm sure has helped you heal and a great many others do the same.

You know I'll always have faith in you!

I disagree with your apology RB!! lol j/k.

What he is trying to say is even though someone may not agree with you BE NICE!! For all the new members, some of you have no idea what the people here at storm2k have done for their own, even though alot of us have never met.

All the professional mets here have helped me better understand these storms and I appreciate that. I would NEVER ever argue with their opinions or facts in some cases. There are plenty on here that do not even have the title of professional but are just as good as those who do it for a living. Yes, Ceye and Stormsfury I am talking about you two. ;)

Even at this bad time for folks on the East Coast, just remember, even in the worst of this cane, we here at storm2k will be praying and pulling for you.

((((((HUGS)))))))) to you my friend!!
I can accept your apology and even understand that the tension level has been a bit high. We have all had to bite our tongues and realize that this time of year is very stressful for many of us and with Isabel looming on the horizon, there is a measured fear out there too. You are an asset to this board Johnathan! We all make mistakes and sometimes we don't think b4 we speak (type) but there is something we all know and that is that there are many of us who have become family and there are even more joining the ranks. I have made life long friends on this board and Johnathan, you are one of them! This board would not be the same without you and I mean that and others feel the same way.

your friend
Sandi :)
