This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

the fact that we have this huge monstrosity of a storm headed our way (looking at the satellite imagery it looks like the clouds from it would cover about the whole southeast of the U.S.) and there are still little ole' things such as steering currents, ridges, etc. that ultimately will say where she goes. I am not any kind of weather forecaster, just a lay person that likes to listen in on this boards discussions and this concept just blows my mind. Any way, I hope it is out of Delaware (if she comes this way) by next Sunday, as I have tickets to the Winston Cup race at Dover and hope things are all cleared out by then.

Oh, the weather will certainly have cleared out by then. But consider if that area is hit by a 110kt (120 mph with gusts to 150 mph) hurricane that many areas may be without electricity for a week or even weeks. Not to mention any structural damage and flooding.
