Mixed Feelings......

#1 Postby katwood » Mon Sep 15, 2003 9:38 am

Its a horrible feeling to wake up every morning for the past two weeks, watching this monster awaken and flourish heading due west towards our home in South Florida, and finally to some relief, the storm turns a bit north like the forecasters predict, and we are hopefully going to be passed by a narrow margin of 300 miles due east. I would have thought that that awful feeling in my stomach everymorning at 8 am, as I watched TWC, would have gone away, now that Isabel is primarily due north of our longitude, meaning that we are 97% out of the woods. But the feeling isn't gone, because all the worrying about my home and my friends, and my family....there are at least seven states right now going through the same thing, and my prayers are with those people. I had made up my mind, after going through Andrew, that if this thing were to hit anywhere from West Palm Beach 30 miles north of me, to Miami, 40 miles south, I was leaving, the eye itself has been 30 to 50 miles wide at times. Please, I beg of anyone in the remote path of a catagory 3,4, or 5 hurricane, to please seek shelter for yourselves, family, and pets......take care of the ones who do not know any better. Although, I should be able to feel better and go on with my routine stuff today, I will not be able to truly relieve myself of this feeling in my stomach, until everyone is out of harms way........Take care and Be safe!!!

:o "monster" is becoming less of a monster by the hour! dry air is pouring in and if dry air penetrates the eyeway she may be down for the count!

Kristen.....I'm optimistic this cat may miss SC now. Latest projected path has it heading right over Norfolk, VA which would be a non-event here in the Upstate. I was thinking about you last week when this thing started brewing and remembering how we "met".
