Help me my eyes are not seeing things right.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Help me my eyes are not seeing things right.

Well I'm looking at latest satellite visible floater and rubbing my eyes.
Is Isabel really tracking NNW? I mean if anything it looks like WNW.
What's the deal here? I mean we shouldn't have the multiple center thing we do with weak tropical storms. This is a strong hurricane and it should have a distinct center. I see the center and like I said it looks like a WNW drift. Oh well I guess I will keep on rubbing my eyes and maybe I will see what the NHC sees.

Since Isabel is moving very slowly, it can be difficult to tell exactly which direction she is heading by looking at a few frames on a satellite loop. It might be best to wait until she starts moving a little less slowly to determine her direction.

Looks NW or NNW to me.. the hole that opened up and closed wasn't the eye.. that could be throwing you off..

What I am seeing is Isabel moving NNW under the upper clouds that are wrapping back around the west side of the eye as she appears to be entering into a possible reintensification phase. It does look like a distinct WNW shift initially but you have to look beyond the upper clouds and watch the lower clouds to see the lower swirl moving NNW. If others see differently I'd like to know what you see.

I would agree, the overall motion is NW or NNW for now. It also does appear some convection is trying to wrap around. Looks like some of the predictions of reintensification could come true. Still doubt it would get much more than a minimal cat 3 though, which would still be bad enough.
