Hunker down for sure in the Carolinas northward. Latest loops show better circulation; she's going with the flow; whites beginning to show up on Dvorak; T'storms wrapping all the way around; Gulf Stream ahead: a lot of potential here. I'm thinking moderate Cat 3 for a time! :o

Shear might be letting up a tad. The outflow on the west side is looking better.

Maybe the dry air located west of her is not pushing more east anymore.

Starting to have a nice eyewall protecting a nice little eye. Cloud tops are cooling as you pointed out Steve.

Oh great!!! Just when I was thinking she would fall apart. Geesshh, so many different routes she can take. Gotta give it to her..she is tough!

Dry air coming off the coast..wether or not it gets entrained..as Wxman57 said is the question. If it does she may weaken :wink: The trof coming down may have some affect too..or as I said before they may cancel each other out. :wink:

Of course it isnt .... not with a BUILDING ridge ahead of Isabel. THAT is what was WRONG with the dry air will get pulled in and kill her idea..
