I felt pretty safe in Florida once all that dry air starting penetrating Isabel. Now just hoping my family in Jacksonville, NC, and Pittsboro, NC escape the worst -- but I fear they won't, given the projected path.

Floridians are not really safe until after the 2004 election is complete :wink: Sorry I couldn't resist. This could be a CAT 5 election storm. Look at the storm track from 2000. :crazyeyes:

I see what you mean by saying Isbael's center has passed 30.0ºN, however sometimes tropical cyclones move southwesterly, so after passing a latitude line of a north/south oriented state such as Florida they can and do sometimes "lose latitude" opposed to "gaining latitude."

Aqua... we have had some very nice weather here too since Henri... I think we only have had 1 rain storm and that was last night.... Very strong winds in that rain storm too....

Ah the joys of living in Florida in September...

Yup we can breath a sigh of relief... Just got back from the beach.. The waves are crashing onto the shore and the wind is around 25-30mph...

Im very glad I do not have to face anything more than that... Just praying for you guys up North to stay safe and sound ;)

:wink: I TOO have alot of faith in the NHC but as far as storms go we all know THEY can be fickle at times..... talking about fla. is safe (past 30.0n)... do a track on hurricane besty in 1965 (not 100% on that date) !!!!!! :o
