While the local weather and EMS reports continue as one would expect, this little sentence sorta caught me by surprise...anyone have some earplugs I can borrow? 8-)

Hurricane force winds are expected to continue for 10 to 12 hours throughout Dare County.

Storm is also expected to hit the area very near high tide. Not that tide will make much difference in that churning mush...

If it hits during high tide or near high tide.. there could be 1 heck of a storm surge... Hope everyone leaves the coast... if anybody "hurricane party's" they'd better do it inland...
