Greensboro, NC Schools Closing Early Thursday?

#1 Postby paradoxsixnine » Wed Sep 17, 2003 2:52 pm

Worth mentioning, I guess...I live about 30 miles south of Greensboro.
One of the larger school systems around here will be closing 2 hours early tomorrow (Thursday) in anticipation of high winds, etc.

It's just funny, that's all...my school would never close for a Hurricane...that's why we have drills for that!

That makes sense. But I don't think they have drills for busses, etc., I guess...plus, parents around here can be pretty trecherous on the school system...especially one with a few faux pas in the past...

My school closed for Hurricane Gloria back in 1985, and the predicted winds for tomorrow are about as storng as what we got with Gloria.

I have a glimmer of hope that my school will be closed tomorrow...OOPS, another fantasy!

But they have just issued an Inland Tropical Storm Wind Warning, and a Flood Watch for my area, so you never know! :o

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Colin. Are you inland or near coast?

Given the projected track and timeline for Hurricane Isabel,
I have made the difficult decision to
POSTPONE TOMORROW'S Class test.
It will now take place next Tuesday, September 23.

I expect to hold class tomorrow for those who can make it
(and assuming that the university remains open).
I shall send another message if this changes and
class is actually cancelled.

I am sorry if this creates difficulties for you.

Hooray for my data structures prof.

Closing tonight? Unless the school is located in extreme eastern NC, that just seems premature.
