Wow, 3D RADAR

#1 Postby NC George » Thu Sep 18, 2003 5:43 am

Our local station (Channel 9 Greenville NC) just whipped out a new product this morning: VIPER radar, it currently shows the eye of the hurricane (along with the rest of it) in 3d motion. Awesome! Projected path: right over my house. The eye is huge. I think this storm is going to show people the hurricanes aren't a point, they can be quite widespread storms, it appears people outside the 'projected track' will experience HF winds, even though Isabel is moving right on the track.
