Work preparations

#1 Postby tomboudreau » Thu Sep 18, 2003 8:24 am

Morning everyone. Just got out of a meeting with the director and it has been decided that we turn down all of our servers and computers tonight in advance of Isabelle. We have also learned that some state agencies in Harrisburg are closing up early today. I am not sure if we are going to be open tomorrow as the worse of Isabelle is forecast to come real close by, if not directly overhead. The sun is out now, but the clouds are moving in. I was on my way up to work this morning with sunrise beginning. The clouds where red and grey with the sun coming it. It was really pretty. I wish I had the digital camera, cause I would have taken some pictures for sure. We are now under a high wind warning from 10 PM tonight through Noon tomorrow as well as a flood watch from 10 PM tonight through 10 PM tomorrow night. I will provide updates throughout the night and tomorrow as long as we have power. I also heard from a co-worker this morning that sitting up on I-80, there were about 50 to 70 utility trucks sitting one of the rest areas from Michigan and Ohio...I don't know if they are going to staying in PA or are going to head southward soon. But it looks like we are in for the long haul now. More later.

Stay safe out there, Tom. My wife and I actually were very close to Punxsutawney this past Sunday when we drove south on PA Rt. 28 from I-80 to Pittsburgh (to see the Phillies vs. Pirates).
