Not Evacuating?

#1 Postby tazdevil » Thu Sep 18, 2003 10:01 am

My area is under a mandatory evacuation. The police advised us if we stay, that we are to mark our bodies with a magic marker with our ID so they will know who we are when they pick up the bodies. Scary.

Don't forget...they're trying to scare people. If you want to go from the mobile home to a sturdy house, it wouldn't hurt, but I really don't think you'll have too many problems that far north.

don't take any chances, taz! Your area looks to suffer the worst in the upcoming 6-8 hours.

You should evacuate, but that is a scare tactic by the police to make you strongly consider leaving. Basically, they're trying to put the fear of Isabel in you. I don't blame them, and it works. I'd leave in a hurry if a cop told me that.

Taz - if you are staying, I do hope that your area does not experience conditions as bad as predicted. Please check in when you can so we know that you are OK.

Weather.com hourly forecast has winds in Modest Town, VA 23412 at 45 with gusts at the height of the storm. Is this accurate? If so I will stay, but I am not sure of accuracy.
