MSNBC - ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C., Sept. 18 — Hurricane Isabel’s 100-mph winds lashed North Carolina’s Outer Banks islands Thursday as the storm moved toward the mainland, where hundreds of thousands of people have already lost power. A man drowned in Rhode Island when he was swept away by fierce waves.

I would hope an inexperienced swimmer would have sense enough not to make a trip into the water during a hurricane. There have been many deaths of experienced swimmers attributed to hurricanes and the undertow.

It can be blamed on Izzy.

No, it's Rhode Island. The report said he was swimming in "Narragansett Bay" where they have had large swells and the riptides took him. That's Rhode Island.
