I am a firm believer that Tropical Weather often repeats itself in patterns, not sure if every part of the repeat process is exact but it's almost a carbon copy sometimes. In 1999 Hurricane Floyd crossed the Atlantic reaching Florida's doorstep before turning away, very similar situation here with Isabel only she did not come as close as Floyd did. After Floyd Hurricane Irene developed south of Cuba and ran up the Florida East coast, it will be interesting to see next week now that the 12z NOGAPS SEPT 24 TH develops a system south of Cuba. You do the math.

Well, John, I sure hope you are wrong. Looking at the pictures from the mid-Atlantic states today, I am sooo grateful that this storm made the NW turn as predicted. If this had continued West, chances are we would have seen a Category 5 somewhere here in Florida.

I can't agree with you more, Isabel would have caused major problems here in Florida not that she is not causing them now, but this time of the year you are not likely to see systems that Develop South of Cuba head toward Texas, however not impossible as we seen last year, just saying if we had a system down there chances are good we would also have a trof coming in. The later the season the more focus begins to shift toward the sunshine state. I have been around a while and I for one am amazed how many bullets we have dodged, not being ungrateful one bit either. Believe me every dog has there day. With so much construction now on both FL coasts I would not even want to think about a slow moving Major Hurricane here.

Yes, I posted as UNKNOWNWX, but once I got a taste of that forum I took the advice of the others and came here, in the process of registering here I used my name instead on UNKNOWNWX. I would rather not get to involved since I believe that talking out of the box is not a good idea. I would rather add than be the leader.
