Comparing Claudette and Isabel

#1 Postby JtSmarts » Fri Sep 19, 2003 6:25 pm

Now that we have had two landfalling hurricanes this year, I just wanted to know which do you all think packed a greater punch overall. I think Isabel because of her enormous size and the large area she brought strong winds to.

Isabel hands down....a much larger hurricane and much more storm surge impact over a wider area.
The damage toll caused by Isabel will likely dwarf Claudette's total.

Easily Isabel.

If Isabel had been coming this way instead of Claudette, I would have evacuated. She was larger and even if landfall was still at the Surfside/Port O'Connor area, we would have felt a lot more of the effects here on the east end of Galveston.
