Noticed a pretty vigorous low level circulation earlier today moving northward, so I agree with the observation from the NHC that Marty has become a little better organized this evening. Still, with the upper low so far off the coast, I don't see any significant rain reaching the SoCal coastal areas since the flow is pretty much out of the south and not southeast or east (which is the scenario in which we can then get convection moving toward the coast). Only chance it seems is if a vortex max moves overhead Wed evening, and even that is in doubt. At most, I believe just some high clouds and increased humidity. (Dewpoints jumped 10 degrees in Riverside earlier today, but are still in the low 60s, which is about the same as the coast which is still under the influence of a very shallow marine layer).

I have just animated the Yuma radar and the rain in that area appears to be moving to the Northwest. :) You can see it for yourself here http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p ... kyux.shtml . ;)

There's lots of ground clutter around Yuma, but looking at the base reflectivity, there doesn't appear to be much movement at all. You can see Marty's center of circulation though in the Sea of Cortez now.
