8:30 AM ATLANTIC BASIN TROPICAL UPDATE
THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 25, 2003
Invest 99L, located about 325 miles SSE of Bermuda continues to organize. A low level circualtion center is evident just S of the heavier convection around 29.5N, 61.5W. Even though the low doesn't appear to have enough organized convection to be classified ATT, due to improving conditions a Tropical or Subtropical Depression could form in the next 24-48 hours. If this system does develop it should be a hazard only to shipping interests as it moves NNE.
Invest 98L, a westward moving tropical wave located about 850 miles Southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, appears to be a little better organized this morning. It has a 1009mb low on the wave axis near 12N, 35W. With improving conditions ahead of it this disturbance could continue slow development over the next few days.
The area of disturbed weather in the Western carribean appears less organized this morning. It is currently located near the Nicaruguan coast and is moving WNW. Conditions in the area this system is moving into are progged to become more favorable and some slow development is possible over the next few days.
Elsewhere, Tropical storm formation is not expected through Friday.
