TD 16 AT 5 P.M.? PRESSURE DOWN TO 1007 NOW........

for Invest 98 at 11 N 37.6 W and it sure is looking fine. QSCAT indicates to me that we have another TD on our hands by 5 p.m. or tonight at the latest. She looks better, in fact, than TD 15.

Looking very good. We could have a TD16 either later tonight or early tomorrow morning.

I think TD 15/Juan looks quite a bit better organized, convection-wise than does the disturbance near 11N/37W. I see a clear LLC, but convection is still spotty. I think the NHC will wait until first light tomorrow to upgrade it (assuming that the convection doesn't fall apart overnight).

Does anybody have any information as to where the developing TD16 may be headed to?

Looking better all the time. Looks somewhat like the same structure that Isabel had at this point, all be it further west.

This system isn't guaranteed to move northward, like Tropical Storm Juan is expected. Being at a lower latitude and not being sure that a trough will be able to pick up the system, means that it needs to be watched more than Juan.
