NHC -- 999 MB LOW in SW GOM.....

Things are getting a bit tropical in the S. GOM today. Another low in the C. Atlantic with a swirl.

999 MB LOW PRESSURE CENTER IN SOUTHWEST GULF OF MEXICO NEAR
236N96W HAS A TROUGH EXTENDING TO SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA.
A COLD FRONT IS OFF THE TEXAS COAST MOVING EAST."

There's nothing down there but some pretty cold air. If anything, there's a natural frontal wave east of Brownsville. Typical for the winter months. Chances of tropical development slim to none, and slim just left town.

And I'm itching for it to hold off until late August, as I'll be out of town making hurricane talks through much of May. :wink:
