LOW CENTER IS TO THE NE OF THE PICTURE, UNDER THE COLD TOPS .....

The tropical disturbance over the southeastern islands of the Phillippines have been getting better and better organizated with time, that is visible in the image above and in NRL. Also TYPHOON2000.COM, have upgraded the system to TD already, they are not waiting for the official inauguration by the JTWC. I believe the system will be officially upgraded to TD status tonight or tomorrow morning. The system looks to be moving westward and will in 24 to 48 hours enter the warm waters of the South China Sea.

It is somewhat organized, and you may be right. They will probably upgrade it tonight or tomorrow. I was surprised when they didn't upgrade 94E to TD, but they have their reasons. They may wait until it does reach the South China Sea, because it is over some land.

You may be right Hurricanehink but remember that cyclones going over the southern part of the Philippines usually don't suffer much since the islands are little, not like in the north where they have the biggest, Luzon. I don't think those islands are a big impediment.
